More myths are busted!
A couple of days ago HT-Tjecken broke the silence in the Myth’s thread and posted two new busted myths.
Myth: Physioterapists doesn’t have an impact (on injuries)
Description: It is said that physioterapists doesn’t reduce the risk for injuries.
Method: In order for this myth to be true there shouldn’t be a trace of any physioterapist in the code (alternatively they’re taken into calculation, but that part doesn’t have in impact or doesn’t change the result). So, we did check if physioterapists are in the code, and if they were: Check if that part has an impact (and the desired impact).
Result: Physioterapists exists in the code, and that part of the code has an impact - and it also has the desired impact.
Verdict: Busted! Physioterapists do reduce the risk for injuries.
Comment: Physioterapists work as intended, not that surprisingly for myself at least. As some users thought they also had an impact on injury times (once you got an injury), we checked that too: They don’t. Physioterapists only reduce the risk for injuries.

Myth: Pic and Mots have an impact on the probability to score a goal once an action has been obtained.
Description: It is said that the team attitude (play it cool etc) not only affects the midfield (the possibility to obtain a scoring opportunity) but also the probability to score a goal once an action has been obtained.
Method: In order for this myth to be true the team attitude need to be taken into calculation in the “attack vs defence” calculation. So we checked if it is a part of that calculation, and if so what impact it has.
Result: Team attitude is not part of the attack vs defense calculation at all.
Verdict: Busted! Pic and Mots have not any impact at all on the probability to score a goal once an action has been obtained
Comment: I would have been very surprised if this myth had been true, even though it from a human logical point of view could (should?) be true. This could however perhaps be a lot clearer in the rules I think.

Personally I think the first myth with clowns not actually working was a more “real” mythbuster. Physioterapists certainly wouldn’t exist if they didn’t have an impact, one might argue that this is the case with clowns as well, but these types of players and characters is something that doesn’t exist in it’s true nature - but is something that the general community has “created”. I wonder who can take credit for fooling the community for years?

I reckon Geddan should take some credit! (For those that didn’t read the Mythbusters thread as it happened, have a look at posts 11041462.629 and 11041462.659 on Global)
